14 Nov

Arrival into Dubai International Airport and transfer to the Dubai Desert Conservation Reserve where you’ll spend your first night in camp meeting other participants and preparing for the 100km challenge ahead. Opening remarks from Tom Vice, CEO of Sierra Space, on their upcoming manned journeys into orbit and future 
space station.

15 Nov

The first day of our 100km challenge takes us through
both the emirates of Abu
Dhabi & Dubai. Trekking
approximately 25km’s today through sand dunes and the desert, we’ll walk into our desert camp in the evening, with an evening yoga session, desert activities and camp fire.

16 Nov

Today begins with an early morning transfer into the
Hatta Mountains, hiking through wadis (Arabian Valleys)
across tough terrain. Today’s route is more technical with
elevation and will see the team cover approximately 
21.5km. Tonight we hear from Steve Lindsey, SVP of 
Sierra Space, a former NASA astronaut with over 30 
years experience.

17 Nov

An early start today to trek through the wadis of the emirate Sharjah, nominated as a UNESCO World Heritage site. Today’s trek ends in Ras Al Khaimah and is a challenging day at over 31km, with an Ambassador, Astronaut & Athlete Fireside Q&A.

18 Nov

Final day of trekking! We will be up ahead of sunrise and today’s trek will take us through the Al Wadi Desert and our final push covers approximately 22.5km.

On crossing the 100km finish line, you’ll be transferred to our 5* partner hotel for a well deserved shower.



Sierra Space will then host the Final Night VIP After Party at the spectacular Sonara Camp in Ras Al Khaimah, where we will celebrate our achievements as a team and the collective fundraising for Laureus Sport for Good.

19 Nov

Final day of trekking! We will be up ahead of sunrise and today’s trek will take us through the Al Wadi Desert and our final push covers approximately 22.5km.

On crossing the 100km finish line, you’ll be transferred to our 5* partner hotel for a well deserved shower.



Sierra Space will then host the Final Night VIP After Party at the spectacular Sonara Camp in Ras Al Khaimah, where we will celebrate our achievements as a team and the collective fundraising for Laureus Sport for Good.

Each participant will be tasked with 
raising money for Laureus Sport for Good.

Since 2000, over 6,000,000 young people have benefited from the work of over 200 Laureus-supported programmes. Laureus Sport for Good uses sport to improve the lives of millions of vulnerable and disadvantaged people all over the world. Working with local community groups using sport to change lives, Laureus tackles violence, conflict and discrimination to change lives: inspiring healthy behaviour and to increase educational achievements and employability skills for those that need them the most.

Each participant who takes part in the Sierra Space Challenge 2022 commits to raise a minimum of US$1,500 in support of Laureus Sport for Good as part of their fundraising and sponsorship efforts.
